Our History
What makes Stonewall Texas peaches so popular?
We’d like to think it’s a combination of the ideal soil, warm days and cool nights, and most importantly, the tender loving care of the farmers. Second and third generation peach growers have been bringing their finest peaches to Burg's Corner since 1948. Burg’s Corner is the retail site of Jimmy Duecker Orchards.
Co-op days
Known to many, this historic place was the original site of the Gillespie County Fruit Growers Co-op where hundreds of thousands of bushels of peaches were processed beginning in 1948.
Jimmy
In 1997, Jimmy Duecker, a member of the Gillespie County Fruit Growers Co-op bought the place to call his own. Like his father, Edmund, Jimmy has a love for what he calls the Cinderella of fruit. Jimmy continues to grow fresh peaches today.
AJ
Known to many as “Coach”, AJ Loth has been a fixture at the peach shed for years. He first managed the outdoor processing area, but many recognize him from managing the retail room. Many youth worked under him and return in the summers to recall fond memories. While he’s no longer manager, AJ can still be found visiting the peach shed some days.
Present
Jimmy and two of his daughters, Kristen and Katelyn, work together to run the family business. Today, we strive to continue to supply those fresh, tree-ripe peaches you remember as a child, so that the tradition and memories can continue with your children and grandchildren.
We hope that whether you visit us in Stonewall or shop with us online, you can enjoy a taste of Texas products!
